From Our Patients
“I recently learned I have the APOE4 gene that is associated with an increased risk of Alzheimer’s. I feared that it was only a matter of time until I wouldn’t be able to remember my grandchildren. I worked with Dr. Fotuhi and Dr. Wynn to create a personalized prevention plan to increase my brain’s capacity. We created a game plan to improve my chances of aging with a healthy brain by committing to exercise at least 5 times a week and staying cognitively and socially active”
“During the winter last year, I slipped on the ice and hit my head. I thought I was fine, but a few weeks later I noticed I was a bit more forgetful and had difficulty concentrating. I underwent a full neurological evaluation and learned that I had suffered a mild concussion. The doctor suggested that I begin neurofeedback and brain coaching. Within a matter of weeks, my mind felt less foggy and I could enjoy life again.”
“My wife just completed the Brain Fitness Program. In only three months, I’ve noticed a tremendous improvement in her memory. Before the program, I feared leaving her home while I ran to the grocery store because I thought she might leave the stove on. Now, I feel better about running to the store and even enjoying a weekly poker night with the boys. She feels more independent and I feel free from the worry. This program has given both of us a new lease on life.”
“A few weeks ago, I could barely remember my Brain Fitness Trainer’s name. Today, I surprised her by remembering the names of everyone within the office. I truly feel like I am becoming a memory champion.”
“I started the Brain Fitness Program to improve my memory, yet I have noticed so many additional benefits. Getting up and coming to the office three times a week is encouraging me to be more active. Each time I go to the office, I take a walk around the block when I get home. I have noticed an improvement in my walking and I have already lost five pounds!”
“I have made so many new friends since starting the program. While sitting in the waiting room, the other participants and I encourage each other and track our progress. We talk about the improvement our families have noticed and even come to the office early some days to sit around and chat. I love having a support system that can relate to what I’m going through.”
